This method is much better then the OLD SCHOOL  method of doing a plaster cast or even a foam cast imprint. First- the turn around time is significantly less with the digital scan,  Second- we do not have to worry about getting orthotics for a patient " hoping " that that was the cause of there pain, now we can actually see if they have an arch problem that needs to be corrected.   Third - with the old school methods there can be several  "re-casts" and reordering due to improper casting procedures or even damage of the mold  in the mail.  With the digital scan we do not have that problem,  EVER.
